I’ve had both College Guys here for the weekend, with a quick visit from another branch of the family Saturday afternoon. Our liturgical steps took us to:
The Cathedral of St. Paul for Holy Thursday. Video from the Cathedral here. Music program here.
The Hispanic community’s living Way of the Cross at St. Francis Xavier Parish on Good Friday afternoon and the Burial of the Lord liturgy at St. Elias Maronite Catholic parish in the evening. Reports and photos here. You can see a bit of video at Instagram here – Story Highlights here.
Easter Vigil at the Cathedral. You can find the full video here. A couple of short videos from me here. Music program here.
And I just have to share the Cathedral’s beautiful Paschal Candle. Images from the Facebook page here.
Food was a bit haphazard as it is these days, with visits to hometown friends. I did manage some Hot Cross Buns and dinner on Sunday was the local favorite of flank steak prepared with this rub, pommes frites…er…homemade french fries and some green things.
(BTW – if you have a Fresh Market nearby, they generally put flank steak on sale on Thursdays for $10/pound. Fantastic deal.)
(French fry method – super simple. I read a blog post a couple of years ago from a woman who was watching her Actual French friend cook pommes frites for her family and all she did was cut the potatoes, but them in a pan, pour oil over them to cover, and turned the heat up. No double frying, no precooking. It works.)
From here on out, it’s going to be busy for a few months, with various comings and goings and transitions. The summer is completely up in the air at this point. I have no idea what I or anyone else is doing.
But now…let’s get back to work.
