7 Quick Takes »

Coming Soon

November 27, 2019 by Amy Welborn

…Advent, that is.

Just a quick reminder of resources I have that you mind find useful. It’s too late to get print materials for Sunday, but many of these are available in digital formats. Plus, if something comes the middle of next week…you can still use it for most of Advent, right?

First, remember that my Loyola Kids Book of Bible Stories is organized according to the liturgical year, making it useful (I hope) for deepening your children’s experience of the season via the Scriptures that they’ll be hearing in Mass and during prayer:

More here – and about the other Loyola books, which will help you share information on Advent saints (like Ambrose, Juan Diego and others) and practices.

If you would like to share signed copies of any of these as gifts, I have a few titles available. Go here to see what I’ve got.

Here’s a brand-new devotional I wrote for Creative Communications for the Parish. Lots of supplementary materials are available – please take a look!

There’s a digital version available here.  So if you’d like it for your own use in that format – go for it!

Also new this year, and not an Advent devotional, specifically – since it’s a daily devotional, it of course…contains Advent devotionals!

2020 – Grace Filled Days – begins on December 1, 2019 and continues through December 31, 2020. Two Advents!

Purchase through Loyola here.

(Bulk pricing available, if you’d like to purchase several for, say – a parish or school staff.)

Online here.

Several years ago, I wrote another Advent family devotional. It’s no longer available in a print version, but the digital version can still be had here.  Only .99!

More resources here.

I'm trying to get better and more efficient at video for this app, so I'm practicing by doing reels and such related to this year's travel. Last time - my trip to Mexico in October. This time, our trip to England and Scotland from this past June:  Oxford, York, the Hadrian's Wall area, Lindesfarne, Edinburgh and London. Phew! In late October, I spent a week in the gorgeous, wonderful city of Guanajuato, Mexico. I'm currently preparing for another trip and am working on my editing skills (hah) so I'll be more efficient. As practice, here's a short survey of that Guanajuato trip. It was great - as I hope you can tell.
