Welcome Y’all

October 23, 2019 by Amy Welborn

Loads and loads of new readers on Wednesday, thanks to a bit of a Dreherlanche. Thanks, Rod!

If you’re new here, please stick around for this extremely random mix of “What I read last night,” “What I cooked (rarely these days),” “What I watched,” “Where I went” and “What I think/hope my kid is learning.”

For more about me, go here.

It’s not much because this space isn’t about monetizing my (deep sigh, practiced shrug)  messyimperfectsuperrelatable life, all for Jesus, ya’know.

I just like to put stuff out there. Maybe one or two points will rouse your curiosity, expand your vision, deepen your understanding or simply get you out of your chair and out of the damn house, screen left in the car.

For some of my more substantive posts – on travel, homeschooling and personal tech issues – look at the tabs at the top of the page.

Also, do check out Instagram, especially Stories

(WAIT DID IS SAY PUT THE SCREEN AWAY? HOW ABOUT NOT YET.)

I do tend to post daily on there – it’s mostly music, but hey, who doesn’t need a bit of music to cheer up their day?

Looking a head a couple of weeks, we’re heading to Honduras for Ruins and Spanish, so there will be lots of blogging/gramming about that.

So yeah, please stick around. And comment. Yes, comment! Hardly anyone does that these days, reserving their wisdom for Facebook and Twitter, but I still like my space here. It’s *my space.* Not Mark’s or Jack’s. MBGA! (Make Blogs Great Again….sorry. Not sorry.)

I’d comment more often if I had something worthwhile to write. Most of the time, I stop two-thirds of the way through a comment and realize that it’s a verbose restatement of something you already wrote, and adds nothing of any substance to the conversation.

Thank you for keeping your own blog and not aggregating with some larger provider, though. Your independence gives rhetorical force to the things you write, which I think are always worth reading even when I have the occasional nitpick/disagreement.
