Super busy day. Just time to digest, I think. But we’ll see. Perhaps something else will manifest itself.
Writing: I was in Living Faith yesterday. I’ll be back there in a couple of weeks.
It’s the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Loyola Press has my writing featured in a couple of places:
First, a chapter from The Words We Pray on the Suscipe Prayer.
Then, the chapter on the saint from the Loyola Kids Book of Saints.
Tomorrow’s St. Alphonsus Liguori – come back for lots on him!
Reading: Unfortunately, nothing super substantial on actual pages. Just internet things. But this – from Adam DeVille – I was going to save for Friday, but it’s worth your time now – exploring how neglect and ignorance of history is a huge problem for Catholics today.
Listening: Much keyboard. I have started a modest Instagram page centered on my youngest’s keyboard playing. Not for promotion, but for reference, really. It’s here.
Watching: A couple of things. Sunday night, we watched Yojimbo– a Kurosawa film on which A Fistful of Dollars was based. It was entertaining, and not only because, honestly, Toshiro Mifune is one of the finest-looking film actors ever.
I think we might watch High and Low next.
We also skipped through a rewatch of parts of Sad Hill Unearthed – inspired by my post yesterday. I realized that Son #4 hadn’t seen it. And we’d watched it before our trip – so it was fun to see images of the place before they restored it, hear tales of the filming and see it again in the near-present. (As I’ve said before – if you choose to watch it – in my opinion, it’s about twice as along as it needs to be. It’s rather repetitious. It’s all super meaningful to you…we get it…)
