Still a bit in recovery mode here, but hope for a lot of writing to happen over the next few days.
Yesterday, it was a very quick trip back and forth to Atlanta.
Stop at Buc-ees on the way. It opened a few months ago and is insane every time I stop. It’s very well located, on I-20 just east of the city. There’s a Bass Pro Shop at the same exit, and I always say that if I were going to show a foreigner the definition of “America” – that exit would not be a bad place to start.
Airport to drop off a traveler, then a super quick trip to Ikea. I was #blessed by very good traffic and not many folks at Ikea. I dug deep and directed my steps towards the warehouse, averting the maze. I’d done my research and knew exactly what I needed – two pieces for my son’s room – so it was in and out, and I even got to use the self-serve express lane. A first.
Kid Who Did Not Travel Because of Organ Duties was at the gym when I arrived. When he returned, he ate (sandwich on homemade bread), recovered, and then we put together the Ikea goods.
Now to work on a rainy day…

Two thoughts:
-Bucees has a huge following in Texas. Absolutely everyone has one of their beaver bumper stickers and/or t-shirts. I know they’re in other places in the South, but it’s still a little funny to hear about one in Georgia.
-I went to an Ikea for the first time ever this year when I visited a friend in Wisconsin. I enjoyed it way more than I should have.
