Caitlyn Jenner is running for governor of California.

The question is: if Jenner wins (which is doubtful for countless reasons, including that awkward 2015 accident) will the claim be that California has elected its “first female governor?”

I can’t imagine women of any ideological stripe except the most trans-enthusiastic being happy about that claim.

But if you are going to insist, ever so casually but persistently that TWAW (trans women are women)….you’ve got to. You have no choice. You don’t.

If you’re going to celebrate males given access to women’s spaces in prisons – which is happening all over the western world, including, for example, in California….

If you’re going to give self-identified “women” of any biological sex access to women’s spaces in shelters – as the Biden administration wants to do, per this week’s news…

If you’re going to allow biological males to participate in girls’ and women’s categories in athletics….

If you’re going to give a biological male a spot on the longlist of the UK’s Women’s Prize for Fiction….

Then yes. Caitlyn Jenner who wears (western, stereotypical) women’s clothes and makeup and has a pharmacologically and surgically modified body in imitation of that of a woman much younger than Jenner’s 71 years….will be the first woman governor of California. By this definition.
