A bit of blogging this past week. On, for example, Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth here.
Mostly worked on The Thing that’s due next week, which means I am fiercely contemplating Advent during the Triduum. Shouldn’t have procrastinated. Sigh.
Oh, and I’m in Living Faith today. Go here for that.

As I mentioned earlier this week, the cathedral for the Diocese of Birmingham has of this week installed a professional livestreaming setup. They’ll be livestreaming/recording on Sunday Mass per week, and of course are doing so with all the Triduum liturgies. You can watch them here. And subscribe if you like – it helps the channel to have more subscribers.
I’m linking to the video (can’t embed) from last night’s Holy Thursday liturgy here, and have it queued up to begin at Offertory, with the choir singing Ubi Caritas by James Biery. I just would like you to have a taste of the quality of music we are blessed to have at our Cathedral – which will only be enhanced by our new pipe organ, coming in the next few months.
Order of Worship for this Mass here.
More about the Music program at the Cathedral, here.

And from the Loyola Kids Book of Catholic Signs and Symbols. I have, of course, many cross and crucifixion-related entries. One, in the symbols related to Jesus’ passion, one in the section about symbols you’d see in church, another in the section about those you’d have in your home. Remember the structure: Left-hand page has the illustration and a simpler explanation. Right-side page goes into more depth for older children.
