Just a bit.
With new friends:
So, no bears or moose yet, but after landing at 6:30 pm in Jackson, within an hour or so we’d seen our bison, antelope and a busy beaver. And we heard – but couldn’t see – beaver pups deep in the dam. Go to Instagram for that video.
Here in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone for a while, bear spray at the ready.
Here’s my Covid-era travel story of the day for you.
Went through TSA security in BHM. All the personnel were super nice and cheerful, but the process? If you didn’t think it was theater before, you’d be sorely tempted to conclude that now. Take every possible dangerous object out of your luggage, including snacks, all liquids, all electronics, take off your shoes and belt, get that change out of your pocket…
…but…
(wait for it)
Never once, from checking boarding passes with ID through any part of security were we asked to lower our masks.
I flew on Monday, and in Kansas City, I was asked to lower my mask. This time, the guy didn’t even look at our faces.
We’re all in this together……
