We’ve been here all week, leaving this evening. Highlights from the last three days:
(I’ll have more thoughts later – we have to get moving.)
— 2 —
UN Tour:
Security Council was in session, so couldn’t go in there, and there was a Model UN gathering going on in the General Assembly, so couldn’t take photos as we walked through there, but it was an interesting tour. All about how great the UN is, of course, but what else are they going to say?

Wednesday night: Hadestown, which was very good. (Kid enjoyed, but said, “Porgy and Bess was better.”)
— 4 —
Thursday, down to the Lower East Side. A turn through the Essex Market, stop at the Pickle Guys, then to the Eldridge Street Museum – a gorgeous, restored, historic synagogue. A guided tour gave an effective history of the Jewish immigrant presence in the LES.
(Window is the only major feature not original)
— 5 –
Food at two different spots (more on this later):
— 6 —
And then last night – the whole original impetus for the trip:
The Piano Man himself at MSG (a mostly monthly gig – this one being mid-week and during a relatively low tourist season, was more affordable than most.)
More, as I said, later, both here and on Instagram.
