…on the road and with a phone disability.
We’re back in Spain after a couple of days in Lucca, Italy. IMy brain is fried right now from flying from Lucca to Madrid, then driving up to yes, “Sad Hill Cemetery” – the famed location from El bueno, el feo y el malo, then over to Burgos which has the most fascinating cathedral, and then up to Bilbao as night was falling. So no deep observations except:
- The difference between southern and northern Spain is astounding. It’s like driving from Arizona for a few hours and ending up in New Hampshire.
- Having driven from south to north, Spain is a perfectly appropriate stand-in for much of the American West.
- During Mass yesterday (Saturday), the entire congregation recited the “Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles; I leave you peace, my peace I give to you…” (well, in Italian, of course).
Anyway, this is what I’ve got so far. More, as I am wont to say, later:
Lucca:
Burgos:
And then:
