That stupid moment when you look at all the work you had done on your old house and you think, “Now, why didn’t I do that while I lived there? ”
Oh well…maybe the next owner will enjoy it all. Whoever that next owner will be, and whenever he/she/they will appear…
First All-Huntsville day happened this week, and it went well. They enjoyed their morning classes, J got more engaged with the Lego League stuff, and M, not surprisingly, had a blast at the Rocket Center. Admission is free for us, so we’ll go back next week, I think.
Seeing the need to put all the rockets into a better context, we started watching this series When We Left Earth , which is very good. Personally, I love The Right Stuff, but I’m thinking they’re not quite ready for it. Even skipping the “Sperm” scene.
I don’t use a lot of television for school. There’s certainly a lot out there, and it’s tempting, but it could really end up sucking up just too much time. However , we have been watching, How the States Got Their Shapes , which is really interesting, amusing and well done. Recommended. The boys actually request it. But then, if it’s on a screen and they know it’s allowed, they’ll request it, in general.
Son and daughter-in-law were by last weekend with a cute little dog that softened hearts (okay, one heart – the others are already mush) – in the “pet” department. Thankfully, the next day, a friend came by and talked about the $1200 she’s spent on her cat’s urinary tract issues, and that heart hardened right back up again.
The Mitchell family serves as missionaries in Costa Rica. Their apostolate is called the “St. Bryce Foundation.” They are doing amazing, creative ministry and the mom, Colleen, is an insightful writer. Please check out their work, support and spread the word.
