Mentioned by Amy months ago, here is delightful You tube video of babies at China Little Flower where a young Catholic woman from the US takes care of dying and sick and healthy abandoned babies in China:

I could so relate to both videos; with my two severely developmentally disabled kids, we're in perpetual toddlerhood, so I can't tell you how many times I've seen scenes like that. We've broken up so many fights like that, and let the kids resolve their own conflicts so many times, although I have to admit that choosing to do so is often out of weariness. ;)

I also can't believe that guy got the kid to sit so long during his Shakespeare lesson. Two-and-a-half minutes is a long time!

I resisted. I held out for a long time. I wasn't interested in some movie about Babies whose trailer had gone viral and was infecting everyone I know. But here you are raving about it too. I gave in and hit play. And in the very first seconds it won me over.

Sufjan Stevens has been a favorite here for a while. At least this video has: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1bSlS6OWTs&feature=PlayList&p=437D757BADEEFC26&index=1 My girls love the animals. I love his rendition of the song. I can bear listening to it again and again and again.

I laughed so hard at the babies pounding rocks sequence, if only because that's behavior I've seen over and over again from my own children. Absolutely charming. I wonder if they were mimicking some actions of their mothers, or if they were just pounding for the love of pounding?

I kind of suspect they were imitating pounding grain, wouldn't you think?

You know what I love about the trailer? Reminds me I don't need the latest stuff, special class, best expensive school to raise a beautiful human being. I need this reminder. I'm giving my five-month-old a rock for Christmas. Ok, two rocks.

I reposted the video from the Catholicism project yesterday, but I just favorited the video from the Babies movie because it seems like there is not much to do with it, except wait for the movie to come out. I also became a fan on Facebook, so I can stay posted on when it releases in our area. I can't wait to get home today to show this one to our baby boy. Continued thanks for being a blessing to all of us with your posts...

Sufjan Stevens is Christian? I thought I was on to something by finding Christian themes in his songs, but now I've googled it and see that I'm way late to this party. His music was passed on to me by two different non-Christian sources, and I was very excited to hear new music that was just GOOD. He's an incredible musician, really, indie-folk-cool or not. Try his cover of "Ring THem Bells" from the "I'm not There" soundtrack. You won't be sorry.

(And thanks for the Tweet!)
