We went to the Louvre today. It was our second time, and I hope to work in two more times before we leave. The first time we spent our afternoon in Egyptian antiquities. Today was Italian paintings and a bit of Rome and Greece. Of course, everyone crowded around the Top Hits: the Mona Lisa, David’s Napoleon (him again??) crowning himself, the Venus de Milo and so on.
It’s all good, but these are what struck me today:

That first painting is….wow. No words. So, so beautiful.
Your two posts that popped up today in my reader were right above and below a story about the clean up at Lourdes. You must be happy that you went there earlier in your trip. I wonder — Will you be going to Santiago de Compostela and Fatima on this trip? I have been to both Spain and France, but have not been to either place or to Lourdes. When friends talk to me about Europe I always think to myself that I will see all three of those places if I am ever in Europe again. Only pilgrimage groups seem to go all three places.
Again, thanks for the armchair travel. I am interested in the places you are seeing as well as your roam schooling.
I haven’t been to Portugal!
