Well, that was fast. Within a matter of thirty minutes, the three remaining kids had taken their leave.
I’ll have more later, because it was quite fascinating to observe. But for now, here’s the last little fellow, wondering where everyone has gone.

I enjoyed these.
Thank you! We had a fledgling robin in our backyard a few years ago. The father was kind of guiding it around our patio furniture. It lasted such a short time but it was quite memorable.
Keep an eye out in your yard now for the whole family over the next week or so. As the mother of growing and grown children, it will give you a chuckle. When we had a nest in our doorway, we watched the same cycle you have just witnessed. After the babies left the nest, we were amused to watched the fully grown “teen” birds running after the mother in our backyard for days as she frantically tried to keep filling their mouths with worms. The poor Mama looked exhausted! “Mom, can I have $20 for Chipotle?”
Amy, I’m confused. You have a picture of the “remaining” chick, but you talk about three leaving. Did you catch a picture of one who came back, or is this a parent, or were you incorrect the other day when you said one fell out?
And thank you for this series of pictures and vignettes. I have looked forward to and enjoyed each installment.
There were four originally. One disappeared at some point on Monday – there was a lot of wind and I really think it was blown out. I don’t think it was ready. Never came back. So after Monday there were three hanging out.
Oh I see – no, the last photo is of the last one of the three before he took off. I should be clearer.
