Not estate sale, but Craig’s List.
Solid, very heavy wood. Drawers work great. $50.
I bought it from a fellow who was moving to Hawaii. Why, aside from the obvious reasons, was he moving to Hawaii? Well, he was born there, first of all. But secondly, he has come up with a product – a multi-part instructional DVD. And all he does is move two or three a day across the interwebs, and he’s got a very nice living going now and in the foreseeable future.
It’s the Pet Rock of the New Millenium…just dream up one good idea – a DVD, an IPhone/Touch/Pad app – that will sell itself.
And then….Aloha.
Later: Every purchase has a story. I just returned from picking up another CL purchase – some counter-height chairs for the kitchen ($50/four). The seller had, not a buffalo head, not a buffalo tail or hindquarters – but an entire stuffed buffalo standing in her basment. As in Natural History Museum stuffed buffalo. Her husband hunts, but this was a gift from a friend. Ummm…thanks!

Craigslist really rocks for finding furniture. Found a leather sectional for the family room and multiple sets of Vermont Precision bunkbeds (normally $$$$$) for about 40% of what the furniture store would charge… And musical instruments… :)
So— what was the guy’s instructional DVD about?!??

I would say the rockingness of Craigslist is indirectly proportional to the size of the town, unless I am wrong and there really is a huge market for chaise longues covered in cowhide. In which case, the Craigslist of our little Texas town rocks all the way up to eleven.
I love the table. Great find.
Dorian, I feel your pain. Round here the only Craigslist problem is often people overvaluing their junk.
Nice table!
I frequent a career advice website/blog started by someone who a few years back started peddling a red panic button that attaches to the computer keyboard. She’s sold over 200,000. One of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” moments!
I wish I could have seen the look on your face when you saw the stuffed Buffalo…I would have not been able to help it…I would have been shaking my head the whole time in disbelief that anyone would have a full stuffed Buffalo in their house…WOW!
Beautiful table!
