If you’re in charge of such things for a parish, or just want a nice little post-Christmas family devotional, check this out:

History: Michael and Bishop Baker wrote this last year. It was published as a supplement to the diocesan paper and the bishop did a series of EWTN spots based on it. Their intention was to get it published, and earlier this year OSV agreed – it needed a few changes, though, and a few more entries. So I did the remaining work and here it is – it’s available for individual purchase and in packs.
The inspiration goes back a bit: A few years ago, while still in Charleston, Bishop Baker was taking a walk on the day after Christmas. A Christmas tree was tossed from the balcony of one of those historic rowhouses, almost hitting him.
So it got him thinking about ways to bring about a deeper understanding of the Christmas season – the real Christmas season.
(And yes, we know that if you want to get really specific, you could go to Candlemas…but there really wasn’t room!)
